In real estate we like to think of ourselves as lone rangers, and many, after figuring out the basics stop participating in their company events. Well let me ask you if the company were to stop participating in your success such as providing conference rooms, administration and a receptionist, not to mention the on going training and support, How would that affect your performance and livelihood?
Over the years I have seen so many, myself on occasions included, not show up for their company awards, or their holiday party, or company picnic and other events their company puts on. Why? Simply selfishness, these individuals think they can make it without giving back to their pears. Well I can tell you that this group rarely if ever becomes the performers in their company or in life for that matter. Those who give the most always get the most in return, and that is just a simple fact of life.
The successful in real estate are always willing to share what they have learned and they do so eagerly, they understand that business and sales is really a team sport, and like all successful people they enjoy encouraging others and in being recognized. Affirmation is a basic need of all human beings, and if you are not taking part in these activities with your office, the chances of your success become slim.
The Realtors that tend to participate usually perform well. Where on the other hand those who never share or support their office and are always on there own rarely become performers, now I know they pick up the phone and call their broker or office manager when they need help. I have noticed over the years as a manager that it is always this group that has most of the 6 alarm fire’s, and only need the office when they have this big fire to put out before it consumes their quarterly deal.
So my suggestion to those of you who wish to raise your level of income is to begin the practice of sharing and participating in your company events along with the performers.
