Complacent or Pro Active

The English Thesaurus describes pro active as being, practical, hands-on, down to business, positive and up beat while it describes complacent as being, satisfied, smug, unworried and content. Which are you with regard to your real estate career?

Being content in life is not necessarily a bad, I would certainly hope that you are content with your spouse, and unworried regarding many areas of your life such as health and finance. But by far pro-active is the way most people wish they felt. Being pro active gives one the feeling of accomplishment, and being involved by being down to business. When your business is going well you tend to be upbeat and positive.

I often hear people say; well I guess it just wasn’t meant to be, well, what did you do to make it be, were you pro active and hands on? Here is another one, we’ll just wait and see what happens, nothing will happen and I can assure you that if anything at all happens it won’t be what you wanted to happen. It reminds me of the story of the frog in the pot that was put on the stove and the burner set to warm, the frog felt very comfortable even as the heat began to be turned up, eventually he boiled to death. Throw that same frog in a pot of boiling water and he would jump out immediately. So whose pot are you sitting in, and how hot is it?
Life is kind of like that isn’t it? What we need to do is become pro active in our real estate careers by being hands on and positive
