If you aspire to high levels, Brad Anderson CEO of Best Buy say’s you must be a rigorous reader. I have no doubt about those words of wisdom and neither should you. It is not a guarantee that by reading you will get to the very top but, it is a certainty that if you are not a reader you will not go very far. .

Here at Lyon we have begun a library and I have challenged the associates to read 10 books in the next six months as I know how that will begin to transform their lives. On that day a few weeks ago Patrick Ferry, the son of Mike Ferry the highly paid real estate coach and trainer was in our office promoting an upcoming Mike Ferry Seminar coming to Fort Lauderdale. Patrick told me during a conversation that his father was an avid reader and he believed that he has read somewhere in the neighborhood of four thousand books, maybe a slight exaggeration, but no doubt that Mike is reader. No wonder thousands of us pay him thousands of dollars per month to be coached by him. If you read just 50 books over the next 2 years, your stock will begin to rise.
So I ask why don’t more of us read? The answer probably lies in the lack of self discipline. Author John C. Maxwell says’s that in order to trade up, you must have something to sacrifice. So I ask, what will you sacrifice, an hour of, TV or maybe an hour of sleep to get to your higher level, but that of course is only if you aspire
to it.
