Ever heard the saying that you only need one diet to loose weight? Well it’s absolutely true. Just as in dieting the only coach you will need is the one you stick with. Now don’t misunderstand me, I know that there are coaches who put a little different spin on things, a slightly different technique and yes I encourage you to seek them out.
When I was in my late teens I wanted to be a thoroughbred race horse trainer, I embarked on that career path and very early on I asked my first coach or mentor Melvin James who was obviously a horse trainer who I worked for, to teach me how to train race horses, he looked at me and said, I can’t. I was surprised maybe even shocked, he went on to say take a little from me and then find a new trainer to work for, and take a little from him, and when you have done this a few times you will begin to create your own recipe or style that was in 1976, By 1987 I was one of the leading trainers in the Pennsylvania New Jersey Circuit.
I am not advocating that you go out there as real estate agents and move from broker to broker. What I am suggesting is that you find early in your career a real estate trainer you’ll stick with, and the sooner the better, stop this crap of saying I need to wait on a check, or when I make some money, your in business your self, so invest in your self, or that check will never come, borrow it from your Mama or put it on a credit card but for heavens sake do what it takes! Tell yourself that you are a winner and you will do what champions do, sacrifice.
There are a few top real estate trainers listed to the right of this blog in our resource center only a click away, not a walk, not a drive, just a click. My suggestion to you is if you are new attend your Local boards training classes and I don’t just been your mandatory code of ethics class, attend at minimum one of the recognized names in our resource center. If Mama will lend you the money again attend a couple seminars a year in your early years. After exploring the various techniques and styles you will develop your favorite. You have now made an educated or an informed decision as to who your coach will be. I have been relying on the same coach the last eleven years.
