Say No

The word NO always seems to give new Realtors a tough time. In fact it’s difficult for most, unless you’re a 2 year old. It has become my 19 month old grandson’s favorite word which he takes great delight in saying.

As I talk to the agents in my office I frequently hear them saying, I new that customer was going to waste my time, or I should have made them meet me in the office, I wasted 2 hours and they did not show, I just new they’d stand me up.

As a Realtor or manger, my day is planned way in advance, not that I know who I will be meeting with 40 days into the future but, I do know the time slots that I will have available for the day. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays I take 4 appointments, Wednesday and Fridays 3. I have no problem saying no which I have had to learn to say NO over the years, if they want to try and juggle my schedule after all it is my time.

In John Tesh book, Intelligence for Your Life, Tesh writes that when you consistently agree to do things you don’t want to do, you raise your level of stress hormones. This not only exhausts your body but can cause you to gain weight. Only say yes if the activity “feels” right. Tesh, suggests going to http://www.amazon.com/ to see how many books have been written on the subject “How to Say No.” I did and got 8007 results.

For those of you who wish master the technique of saying NO, please schedule an appointment with Jackson Lyon my grandson and he’ll demonstrate his and show you the pleasure he gets out of just saying No.
