As the General Manager of The Lyon Company Real Estate and previously the team leader of The Mark Lyon Team I have some knowledge of leading others, maybe not always effectively but leading anyway. Having been an entrepreneur since my mid twenties I have certainly had my share of successes and more than my share of failure. In fact I tell people I am a master at failure.
My daily habits are spending time with God every morning praying and studying his word before leaving for the office. I have a prayer list which I pray from as I would not be able to remember all the people and situations that I am in prayer about. I can tell you as a manager of about 35 real estate associates there is a lot to pray about these days. In the book of Mark 11:24 Jesus said, Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
One of the items on my prayer list had been there for about three years, and I had never gotten the answer that I truly wanted, I felt as thought God had answered but not in the way I felt I needed it answered in. I never got that big blessing that I wanted. A short time ago it dawned on me that I had my priorities backwards; instead of God providing what I wanted, I realized God did not need what I wanted. I changed the prayer asking him for guidance, that I provide that very same gift to him. I can tell you my prayers were answered in ways I had not thought of and what a blessing it has been for us.
I think the same applies in all our lives, if we really want our lives to work pray about things that matter to God, find out where he is working in your life and in your career, pray about this work, what you will need to accomplish this task for his glory and more of your prayers will be answered with greater frequency.
