No not that type of engagement, but one that does require a similar time commitment for it to be a success. I’m talking about your profession and if you’re reading this it’s probably real estate.
The engagement will be different as you move thru the stages. The first stage you will experience is the learning stage, if engaged you will be attending most if not all training put on by your company, that’s basic training, phone techniques, prospecting learning to fill out and complete contracts PROPERLY and which addendums may or may not apply. If you are not attending your disengaged, your wasting your time and every body else’s.
The second stage of learning, you should be attending allot of seminars and training sessions put on by the many professional real estate trainers, those are the guys whose emails the disengaged delete every day. Not sure which trainers offer what, check out our resource center bottom right of this page.
Now I know what you are thinking, when I make some money I’ll become more engaged in training, the truth is you can’t afford not to be trained, because you will never have the money to get trained, that’s why people get student loans. You must learn before you can earn, what if doctors thought that way, I’ll just perform a few heart surgeries first, make a quick $100,000 grand then go to med school.
As your career and your level of business maturity grows and the understanding of the opportunities at hand, so will the way you will become engaged. You will become engaged with community, teaching and training others along with greater giving of self and resources, you’ll have narrowed your training preferences to a specific coach and trainer, begin attending the annual conferences they put on.
The bottom line is you MUST be engaged for success to happen, the more engaged the more successful you become especially in the last stage, your efforts and engagement become compounded. You begin to reap the sweet rewards that only the successful ever taste. So I encourage you to become engaged, otherwise you’re cheating yourself out of a fulfilling life and career.
