I was recently told by an associate of mine that blogging was good for your mental health. Well if I was told that some time ago, I probably wouldn’t have given it much thought.
I started blogging a few months ago and the more I blog the easier it gets. I remember my first blog, I gave my self a deadline for the coming Monday, on Sunday morning I still didn’t even have a topic, other than I knew it would have to do with real estate. I went out to the patio at home lap top in hand. Every time my brain began to work and I would come close to an idea my wife seemed to interrupt me, and the thought would disappear, ever had that happen to you? I hopped in my car drove to the office, only to find one of my most talkative associates there. I sat in my office trying to concentrate while he talked. Eventually he left; I got the topic and was done within the hour.

Since that day I have been putting them out regularly, and have at least 26 future thoughts to blog on. Blogging sharpens your mind and can actually be interesting and is a positive learning experience, it is for me anyway.
In real estate it is beneficial to your business as each blog is an individual website which should link back to your website and drive traffic to you. The topics, and please don’t blog your listing, it’s boring, but rather have your blog link to your listings.
Here are some ideas and it does not have to be about real estate. If you work Miramar blog on Miramar happening, Pembroke Pines restaurants, Cooper City schools, How about blogging on being a parent of teenagers, lots of people in the community are at your place in life, or the musings of being a young mother, how about your hobbies. I was talking with a Realtor recently who’s passionate about coffee and that’s her topic, coffee, I didn’t know until I spoke with her that so much could be said about it. The point is blog on your interests; link your blog to your real estate website. I can assure you all of these readers live somewhere.
So set aside 45 minutes a week and start blogging, remember blog on what you enjoy, and have an interest in. You may find a new source of business, not to mention it’s fun and it’s healthy, mentally anyway.
